Bioclimatic pergola in a false right angle: project with the Altea SIX96 model

Project with Altea SIX96 pergola in special configuration

In this Mediterranean-style residential project, the challenge was not simply to create shade. The goal was to integrate a bioclimatic structure into an irregular geometry, respecting the existing volumes and maintaining the overall clean lines.

The solution adopted was a SIX96 Altea model bioclimatic pergola, configured in a false square and combining fixed and movable slats to adapt precisely to the perimeter of the building.

Irregular geometry: resolution using a false square

The project's unique feature lies in its configuration:

  • Approximate main front: 4.650 mm
  • Structural side: 4.447 mm
  • Posterior encounter: 2.300 mm
  • Plan view with non-orthogonal angle (false square)

This condition required a tailored solution that avoided improvised cuts or visually forced solutions.

La Altea pergola This type of adaptation is possible thanks to its high-strength extruded aluminum structural system, which allows for special configurations without compromising stability or water drainage.

The result is a structure that appears to have been conceived together with the house, not added later.

Combination of fixed and movable slats: technical optimization

To resolve the geometric irregularity, a hybrid solution was chosen:

  • Main area with motorized adjustable slats
  • Triangular section with fixed slats

This combination serves a dual purpose:

  • To technically solve the false square.
  • Maintain aesthetic uniformity on the deck.

The movable slats allow you to regulate the entry of light and ventilation according to solar orientation, while the fixed part stabilizes the geometry and ensures visual continuity.

Sun protection and climate control: integrated double screen

The project incorporates a front and side screen, a configuration that allows for precise control of solar radiation and prevailing winds, while also increasing the privacy of the space. This perimeter protection significantly improves thermal comfort under the roof and extends the usable period throughout the year.

The integration of the screens is resolved in a clean and aligned manner with the structure, preserving the formal purity characteristic of Mediterranean architecture and avoiding elements that alter the composition of the whole.

The integration of the screens maintains the purity of lines characteristic of Mediterranean architecture, without added elements that disrupt the composition.

Mediterranean architecture: material and formal coherence

The house responds to a contemporary Mediterranean language: white volumes, clean lines and a fluid transition between interior and exterior.

The pergola does not act as an accessory element, but as an architectural extension of the upper floor slab, reinforcing the horizontality of the whole and generating a protected intermediate space.

In this type of architecture, the shadow is not decorative: it is structural in the way of living.

Altea model: large dimensions with minimal structural presence

The Altea bioclimatic pergola is designed to cover large areas with an optimized structure:

  • High structural resistance
  • Concealed drainage system
  • Integration of automation systems
  • Possibility of special configurations (like this false square)

This project demonstrates its ability to adapt without losing formal purity.

Conclusion: technique at the service of design

When the architecture presents complex geometries, the solution cannot be standard.

This project demonstrates that a well-designed bioclimatic pergola not only protects from the sun: it organizes the space, completes the architecture, and enhances the outdoor experience throughout the year.
